Frequently Asked Questions

The WebPsychologist.org appreciates questions from the audience, but your question might already be answered here in our frequently asked questions-section. If your question is not answered in the FAQ, you may contact us here.

How can I cite a webpage?

There are many different citation-standards. This example follows the APA-standard.

  • Articles with author

[Surname of author(s)], [Initials Given Name] ([Year Published]). [Title of Article]. Retrieved: [Date of retrieval] from Experiment Resources: [URL]

Example: Managing loneliness, by Sondre Risholm Liverød and Shobna Subramanian Iyer

Liverød, S. R. and Iyer S. S. (2010). Managing loneliness. Retrieved 10 July 2010 from WebPsychologist.org: http://webpsychologist.org/articles/managing-loneliness/

  • Reference in the text

The reference in the text would look like this (APA-standard):

“Here is the information you are citing (Liverød and Iyer, 2010)”

Who is the author of the article?

Most articles have the name of the author(s) right below the text and in the header at the top of each posting.

Who are the authors here at the WebPsychologist?

  See our contribution-page.

Who are you?

See our about-page.

When did you write the article?

You can find the year and date of the first posting of an articles in the heading at the top of the posts, next to the name of the author(s).

Since webpages may have been changed several times, most citation-standards demand that you cite what year when the webpage was first published and the date it was viewed/downloaded (retrieved).

Can I get personal advice from the WebPsychologist?

A psychological counseling service is something the WebPsychologist would like to offer, but currently we have no website sponsors or financial support, which means that we do not have the opportunity to consult individual cases. However, you are welcome to comment our articles at the bottom of each posting, and we will be happy to engage in relevant debates in the field of psychology and human growth.

Does the WebPsychologist adhere to a particular religious belief?

The WebPsychologist is relatively neutral and our articles will be based upon humanism. The articles and videos on this site advocate no specific religious assumptions and regularly we do not dwell upon religious metaphysics. However, some of the articles might have a relation to some of the great wisdom traditions, but only to the extent that it seems relevant for our purpose; to explore the human psyche and look for techniques and enriching ideas that might foster human development and psychological growth.
