Shobna Subramanian Iyer is originally trained in economics and business management, but she also holds a master’s degree in human relation management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management.  She has been working with human relations for about 17 years.

Shobna also represents our most important “gateway” to the Eastern wisdom traditions. She has practiced various kinds of meditation and yoga for many years, and she makes use of meditative techniques as a key intervention in working with clients. Shobna has proven to be a very good collaborator in relation to the body-mind question. She is also concerned about the differences in eastern and Western philosophy and psychology. Among other things, she likes to deal with the enigmatic field between Ego (Wester approach) and Ego transcendence (Eastern approach) to psychology. Shobnas contribution to our site is very much appreciated. Her close contact with Eastern wisdom traditions are a treasured enhancement to the Western perspectives regarding psychology and the philosophies of life and death.

Sumei Lee FitzGerald is a sociologist with particular interests in scientific, medical and socio-cultural studies. She has extensive experience as a writer for Health magazines and she has a keen eye for interpretation of complex data material.

Translation

This project started out in Norway with two psychologists wanting to write about human growth and existential questions within the field of psychology and philosophy. We ended up with two Norwegian sites called WebPsykologen.no and WebFilosofen.no.  After a while, we wanted to reach out to an even larger audience, and then we started to develop the translated versions of our Norwegian sites. The result was two English equivalents called the WebPhilosopher.net and this page, the WebPsychologist.org. In this process we had to hire a translator who could transform the articles in Norwegian to English and vice versa.

These projects are dependent on high-quality translations, and fortunately, we have established a very good collaboration with Mari Rowland. She is our most important partner in terms of translation. She is a Norwegian citizen living in Los Angeles, USA. She is working part time as a freelance translator between English, Swedish and Norwegian. She is also studying international economics. Rowland always delivers high quality translations on time. She is an important partner both for the WebPsychologist.org, the WebPhilosopher.net and for our Norwegian sites.
